Gwen Stefani’s romance with Blake Shelton was edited together for “The Voice” long before it was a reality.
“We were laughing our heads off when we saw the blind auditions,” the 46 year-old singer told Cosmopolitan of her second season on the reality show. “I love NBC, but they for sure edited stuff together to look like we were flirting.
“They chose to run with that story before anything was even real. I hardly knew him. But it was like it was in the air — happening before it happened.”
The duo met as judges on the singing competition show in the midst of divorces — Shelton from country star Miranda Lambert and Stefani from her husband of more than 13 years, Gavin Rossdale.

In spite of claims that they helped each other through their splits, Stefani said there’s only a few key people who are aware of the actual details involving her separation from Rossdale.
“Nobody except for my parents, the people involved, and whoever they told,” Stefani listed. “Nobody would believe it if I could really say what happened.”
Since confirming their relationship last fall, rumors have swirled suggesting the musical couple will head down the aisle in the near future.
TMZ earlier this month reported they’ve already hired famed celebrity designer Jerri Woolworth to coordinate their rumored nuptials.
